Steel bars in prestressed concrete sleepers. IT02

Concrete sleepers have a certain amount of steel for structural reinforcement, assembly and manufacturing conditions and for the fastening systems. In this article I will review the different functions that these steels fulfill in a concrete tie, what type of steel they are and some constructions practices that allow us to understand the reason for certain reinforcements. The article refers to the sleepers that currently exist in Argentina.
